Sallah: Avanrenren celebrates Muslims on Eid-El-Kabir, calls for peaceful coexistence, tolerance.
As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-al-Adha, Edo-born UK-based businessman and philanthropist, Comr. Nosa Jerry Avanrenren has extended his warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah, wishing that the sacred festival may usher peace, love, tolerance and unity to the Nigeria.

In a statement he personally signed, Avanrenren noted that the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir is a reminder of the importance of sacrifice, compassion, and kindness and total obedience to the will of Allah.

He said, “the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son which we celebrate in this festival, reminds us of the values of obedience, faith, and selflessness, therefore I call on all Nigerians to pick up these virtues, promote peace, understanding, and cooperation that fits across tribal and religious sentiments.

“I understand  the challenges Nigeria faces - economic, food, insecurity, and others. I encourage all Nigerians to remain patient, resilient, and committed to our collective progress because the best asset we have is each other."

“Let us use this occasion to promote interfaith harmony, national unity, peace and development even as we pray that  Allah blesses us and our nation, and grant us peace and prosperity.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo said he has kick-started the campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Edo election : Tenebe alerts security agencies of ‘planned protest by PDP supporters’ in Abuja The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alerted security agencies about a planned protest by supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to “influence” proceedings at the Edo governorship election petition tribunal. The demonstration is reportedly scheduled for Tuesday in Abuja. A statement on Monday by Jarrett Tenebe, the APC chairman in Edo state, urged security operatives to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to prevent a potential disruption at the attorney-general’s office by the protesters. Tenebe asked men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigeria Army to be on the watch over the situation. His words, “The disruption allegedly aims to influence the ongoing Edo State Governorship tribunal”, Tenebe said. He added that the ruling party will not tolerate any attempt to compromise the judicial process or disrupt the peace.
