Breaking: Tribunal Strikes Out, Petition Against Gov Okpebholo.
The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has ruled that only a candidate who contested an election or their political party can challenge its outcome. The ruling was delivered in response to a motion filed by the Action Alliance (AA).

The Tribunal noted that AA’s candidate did not challenge the election result, making the motion unqualified. This decision was part of four pending motions ruled on by the Tribunal.

In another ruling, the All Progressives Congress (APC) argued that petitioners alleging over-voting must provide proof beyond reasonable doubt. The party insisted that polling unit agents, as eyewitnesses, must testify to substantiate the claims.

The respondents maintained that the petitioners failed to prove their case. They urged the Tribunal to dismiss the motion for lacking merit, jurisdiction, and competence.

The Tribunal granted their prayers and struck out the motion, along with another one.
