PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER TO THE EDO STATE GOVERNOR ON OIL AND GAS
     CALL FOR PUBLIC INPUT ON HARNESSING THE OIL AND GAS SECTOR FOR THE BENEFIT OF EDO PEOPLE

The Edo State Government, under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo, is committed to harnessing the full potential of the oil and gas sector to drive economic growth, create jobs, and improve the living standards of our people, particularly those in oil-producing communities.

As part of our inclusive governance approach and commitment to sustainable development, we invite industry experts, community leaders, investors, stakeholders, and the general public to contribute innovative ideas, strategic insights, and recommendations that will enhance the sector’s impact on Edo State.

Our objective is to develop policies and initiatives that promote local participation, attract investment, support community development, and ensure environmental sustainability.

We welcome submissions on the following key areas:
 • Sustainable development of oil-producing communities
 • Full implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA)
 • Strategies for responsible exploration and production
 • Local content development and capacity building
 • Community engagement and corporate social responsibility
 • Investment opportunities in refining, gas utilization, and energy transition
 • Policies to enhance transparency and accountability in the sector
 • Any other innovative ideas to drive growth in Edo State’s oil and gas industry
