PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ADVISER TO THE EDO STATE GOVERNOR ON OIL AND GAS
     CALL FOR PUBLIC INPUT ON HARNESSING THE OIL AND GAS SECTOR FOR THE BENEFIT OF EDO PEOPLE

The Edo State Government, under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo, is committed to harnessing the full potential of the oil and gas sector to drive economic growth, create jobs, and improve the living standards of our people, particularly those in oil-producing communities.

As part of our inclusive governance approach and commitment to sustainable development, we invite industry experts, community leaders, investors, stakeholders, and the general public to contribute innovative ideas, strategic insights, and recommendations that will enhance the sector’s impact on Edo State.

Our objective is to develop policies and initiatives that promote local participation, attract investment, support community development, and ensure environmental sustainability.

We welcome submissions on the following key areas:
 • Sustainable development of oil-producing communities
 • Full implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA)
 • Strategies for responsible exploration and production
 • Local content development and capacity building
 • Community engagement and corporate social responsibility
 • Investment opportunities in refining, gas utilization, and energy transition
 • Policies to enhance transparency and accountability in the sector
 • Any other innovative ideas to drive growth in Edo State’s oil and gas industry

2027 : GOV OKPEBHOLO KICKSTARTS CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION IN EDO . Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo said he has kick-started the campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. The Governor disclosed this when he received another member of the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), who had defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State. The defector and member House Committee on Budget and Appropriation, Hon. Kaycee Osamwonyi represents Uhunmwonde State Constituency. Edo election : Tenebe alerts security agencies of ‘planned protest by PDP supporters’ in Abuja The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alerted security agencies about a planned protest by supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to “influence” proceedings at the Edo governorship election petition tribunal. The demonstration is reportedly scheduled for Tuesday in Abuja. A statement on Monday by Jarrett Tenebe, the APC chairman in Edo state, urged security operatives to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to prevent a potential disruption at the attorney-general’s office by the protesters. Tenebe asked men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigeria Army to be on the watch over the situation. His words, “The disruption allegedly aims to influence the ongoing Edo State Governorship tribunal”, Tenebe said. He added that the ruling party will not tolerate any attempt to compromise the judicial process or disrupt the peace.
