...hail Senator Monday Okpebholo for attracting good news to Edo state

The Akpakomiza Media Strikers (AMS) applaud the Edo State government and the House of Representatives member representing the good people of Owan West and Owan East Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Julius Ihonvbere (the majority leader of the house), for successfully influencing the establishment of Federal University of Sports, Afuze, through his sponsored Bill, and other complementary efforts.

While congratulating the Edo people for this achievement, Akpakomiza Media Strikers noted that the Owan people of Edo state are fortunate to have a representative who prioritises their interest, unlike some politicians in the same capacity who were self centered. 

It may surprise you to know that Engr Clifford Ordia, a former senator who represented Edo Central Senatorial District, had sponsored and secured Federal Government approval to establish Federal College of Education, Usugbenu, Esan Central Local Government Area. However, he allegedly traded the opportunity to Obaseki to be sited in Edo south in exchange for his failed third term, against the Edo Central rotational practice. This decision ultimately led to the Federal Government's revamp of the College of Education Ekiadolor.

The Akpakomiza Media Strikers also seize this opportunity to hail Gov. Monday Okpebholo for making governance a vehicle for positive transformation in Edo State within three months of assuming office.

Governor Okpebholo is a good head and good heads attract good news.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo said he has kick-started the campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Edo election : Tenebe alerts security agencies of ‘planned protest by PDP supporters’ in Abuja The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alerted security agencies about a planned protest by supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to “influence” proceedings at the Edo governorship election petition tribunal. The demonstration is reportedly scheduled for Tuesday in Abuja. A statement on Monday by Jarrett Tenebe, the APC chairman in Edo state, urged security operatives to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to prevent a potential disruption at the attorney-general’s office by the protesters. Tenebe asked men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigeria Army to be on the watch over the situation. His words, “The disruption allegedly aims to influence the ongoing Edo State Governorship tribunal”, Tenebe said. He added that the ruling party will not tolerate any attempt to compromise the judicial process or disrupt the peace.
